Uncle Gary

We stopped in Cottage Grove, Oregon to see Uncle Gary. Gary is my uncle Greg's uncle - I'll try not to bore you too much with all the irrelevant family connections. Gary is a true child of the 60's or whatever you call real hippies. He lives on a few acres off of I5 alone. His partner passed away 20+ years ago but I could still sense the sadness and love Gary had for him. We talked about Gary's own road trip adventures in which he and his partner traveled in a converted school bus - real Ken Kesey/Merry Prankster style! Gary worked for the forest service and is now retired.

Somehow we got on the topic of Cole's interest in photography, especially analog photography or as they used to call it when I was growing up, photography. Gary gave Cole a really cool "analog" Pentax and several lenses as well as a tour of his property.
