Friday Morning, KeyWest

Cole and I had a tough time sleeping last night. There were some campers next to us who decided to start cooking on an open fire at about 10:30 PM. We were already "in bed" with the rear hatch open and smoke from the fire found its way straight to our back door. We closed everything up but this meant we were in a sauna until the folks next door finished... they had a VERY LEISURELY dinner. Once things settled down and we opened everything back up, I enjoyed watching the lighting storms as they flashed through the clouds far off in the distance. We don't see this kind of light show much in the PNW.

Friday morning, I woke to the "sound of freedom". We're staying right across from NAS Key West and F-18's and what appeared to be a Saab JAS 39 Gripen were taking off for early morning maneuvers. We also met a really cool couple (Countess and Žarko) staying right next door who live in (of all places) Burien, Washington! They're starting a printing business when they get back to Seattle doing car wraps, stickers and the like. Of course, they got a WHEN are WE sticker and we took a few of theirs.

My nephew in his F-18 flying over Key West!
